Substitute Child

By Jane Ellyson

Substitute Child
AmazonAppleKobo

Thriller-romance set between Brisbane, Australia and the Cote d’Azur in France.

A deckhand in France discovers a bottle with a eulogy and letter inside. The bottle has floated all the way from Byron Bay in Australia to France.

The discovery prompts a whirlwind journey for Charlotte Wyatt into the world of paparazzi, European royalty and the criminal underworld.

Charlotte Wyatt’s story includes a journey across the world to collect a bottle with a message inside. What had her parents been thinking 20 years ago?

While on her journey she’s given the opportunity to live vicariously as a  royal ‘substitute’ and  quickly gets swept up in someone else’s story.

Men, men men. There’s love interest from three marvelous men. Are the French better kissers?

There are also fabulous fashions, beautiful places and a few famous folk in walk-in and run-in roles.

It’s the story of a student travelling to the other side of the world to collect a bottle with a love letter to a brother she never knew, and a journey to discover who she is and what she wants from her life.

What readers are saying.

An exciting thriller/romance taking a young Australian on a whirlwind journey. Surprised that I enjoyed it even more than Over Byron Bay (which I loved).

Tracie Rodwell

Substitute Child is a fast-paced thriller-romance from its opening pages in Byron Bay, to London, Paris, Antibes, Monte Carlo and Rome.

This was a fun and entertaining story. What starts out as a magazine interview trip to Europe turns into an exciting adventure for Charlotte with a good dose of romance and danger mixed in. If you enjoy coming of age stories and French culture, you will love this book!

Laura Simmons

Just as with the first part this was a real journey. I am so impressed by the feelings that reached me from the pages. Charlotte was a great character who grew so much from page one to the end. The setting was new to me and done well enough I felt like I was part of the world. There was a lot going on and characters who surprised me. Mason was one of my favorites. It’s a fast paced read that would be a perfect beach book. I picked up it and devoured it the same day. I recommend both books in this series and look forward to more.
